In the celebration of audiobooks, I've been loving The Unselected Journals of Emma M Lion on audio. I am waiting on the 4th on Libby. I LOVE a period piece, I've loved PBS Masterpiece theater since I was little (I was an "old soul" as a child) and they are just a perfect audiobook version for me.
Audiobooks are getting me through this season of life. But you are SO right about narration. A good narrator will let you disappear into the story. A bad one—oof… good luck getting through that book.
I absolutely love audiobooks! I'm currently listening to YESTERYEAR by Claire Caro Burke. I keep a list of favorite audiobook narrators and occasionally search for books that way. I love Julia Whelan, Caroline Hewitt, and Ellie Heydon.
