Wow, Kathryn. So much going on personally and you still show up for all of us both here and at a conference. Kudos, friend! (Mandatory disclaimer: please rest when you need to!)

Thank you Sri! Oh, believe me there was some rest when I was away from kids for a week! I cherished the ability to sleep :)

Oh my god.. I have the Loop ear plugs too.. they are AMAZING! You can still hear everything, but it gets rid of the harsh tones and dampens the sudden high pitched screeches of other people's little shits.. sorry, children! 🤣 I carry these fabulous Loops everywhere with me just in case! 👍

They really are magical. Can still hear my kids but not all the other chaos.

Ugh, the noise of expectations, both internal and external. I find having no expectations always leads to surprises. They could be good or bad, but it's much less stressful.

I totally agree. Letting go of expectations is always a work in progress for me but can be so helpful when I can.

It was such a great conversation with so many layers, a real joy to discuss with you and Heidi. Probably could have spoken on the topic for hours! xxx

Not the point of your post: I bought the ear plugs for an upcoming trip. Thanks for the idea of parenting noise in our heads and in the culture around us. That's a helpful way to think about it, for me. I love that as a counterpoint to the actual noise kids make.
