Currently using a bookmark my child made a couple of years ago for mother's day because I temporarily misplaced my parent-approved bookmark (now found). My bookmark is The Road to Tender Hearts by Annie Hartnett. It is very dark comedy but I've really been enjoying it.

I use anything and everything that fits between the pages of a book. That may have once included a tampon wrapper. 🫣

This made me laugh. You are very resourceful, Sri!

My grandmother always told my mom that if she had been reading well, she didn’t need a bookmark. I always heard this story and took it as a challenge, so, until recently, when I finally realized how ridiculous that statement was, I didn’t use a bookmark!

Currently: a notecard my 4yo drew on

Recently: a paper coaster?

That is a tough rule to follow! I am so glad you have come to use bookmarks. Notecards are good, I also use junk mail in pinch.

My baby loves pulling out my bookmarks! I spend a lot of time finding my page again and I’m constantly updating my storygraph app so that I can look up the page there when he inevitably takes it out. Haha.

Ooh Storygraph as a back-up is such a good idea!

This summer I had been using a piece of paper decorated by my 4 year old daughter until she pulled it out last week leading to a two day process for me to find the time to read to find my place. 😅 Despite this small hiccup, she has been a good cheerleader in helping me read each day during rest time now that she knows it’s my goal. “Mom, why aren’t you reading your book??”

Kids love pulling out bookmarks. My daughter loves to do it, and sometimes I swear she has a quiet maniacal laugh. I LOVE that your daughter is helping hold you accountable for your goals.

I use anything I can grab for a bookmark - scraps of paper, receipts, post-it notes. Sometimes I just dog-ear the pages. I just started reading Becoming You by Suzy Welch after hearing about it on a podcast and I'm loving it so far!

Podcasts are a huge source of my reading list! So many great avenues to find good books. And post-its are also a great bookmark!

Mmmm I have recently resorted to the old folded corner. There's never a bookmark around when I need one!

You can't go wrong there...except I can't do it to a library book. It feels like breaking the law to me.

perhaps the best bookmarks are the ones my children make for me (with help from adults who know what I really want :)

I do love a child made bookmark. I have a collection, too. One time my child who loves to craft made me one that had a few too many "features" to work as a book mark. It lives in my bedside drawer.

I use paper bookmarks I’ve picked up from bookstores I’ve visited and shopped at over the years and postcards. Of the latter, my favorite is a photo of Salvador Dalí and Alice Cooper. I’m currently (and finally getting around to) reading Debby Irving’s “Waking up White and finding Myself in the Story of Race”.

The bookmark collage is great!

I love when I buy a used book and find a bookmark from the previous owner, they are often bookstore bookmarks. It's fun to see how far the book (and bookmark) have traveled.
